Alternative title: #LHB_Juice_January Day 7 … Grapefruit, Avocado, Spinach and Turmeric Juice.
Ok folks, it’s day 7 of #LHB_Juice_January and we’re kicking the day off with a “It’s all about the Turmeric” Juice … It’s Thursday, or more affectionately called Turdsday, it’s the first Turdsday back from the epic Christmas-New Year break and we all know what that means … It means tantrums as the alarm goes off, the inability to find any pants to wear let alone a decent shirt, the coffee machine is throwing a total wobbler (so no caffeine for you but plenty of milk for the carpet!) and there, in the distance, is Friday! It’s so near you can smell it …
So, why Turmeric you ask? Well…
Turmeric is a great source of Vitamins B6 and C, plus various Minerals (in particular Iron, Magnesium, Manganese and Calcium). Turmeric has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and one of the main active compounds in Turmeric is Curcumin is believed to have anti-inflammatory, anti-tumour and anti-oxidant properties.
Fun Fact: E100i relates to Curcumin and E100ii relates to Turmeric when they are used as a food additives.
Ingredients (Makes 1):
A handful of Spinach
1/4 tsp Ground Turmeric
Just peel the carrots, ginger and orange, slice it all up then bob in the juicer (for this one I’m using a Nutribullet so I also added 200ml water)!
